These gentle adventures for ages 1-6, allow readers to join best friends Mouse and Elephant as they explore and learn about their neighborhood.
Together, they grow and harvest pumpkins, pick wild strawberries and make jam, learn about shooting stars, and meet new friends that share their rural setting. Each story takes place in a new location where the two make new discoveries and tackle challenges – learning about everything from singing peepers to pollination, nocturnal and amphibious animals, and how the seasons change.
This series is gender-neutral, to make it accessible to all readers. Series themes include friendship, compassion, kindness, discovery, self-reliance, sharing, cooperative learning, and makes a good companion to early STEM education. Each book in the six book core series includes activities to extend learning.
Books 1-6 take place in specific neighborhood locations, while books 7-8 take place in the full neighborhood.
