Peeps and Chickens

Our flock of chickens included two roosters: an orange rooster with a top knot of feathers whom we called "Knothead," and a really big rooster named, "Gervin." Knothead may have been a Polish rooster, and while they are known for being sweet and kind of timid, Knothead used to chase us if we got near the hen house. Gervin was just huge – as big as a turkey.

An answer to that question: do free-roaming chickens always lay their eggs in the hen house? No. We found eggs everywhere...
