A Glimpse of Foxes

A Glimpse of Foxes

At the end of wild blueberry season in Maine, I happened to have a handful of overripe wild blueberries so I took them out to the bird feeder and left them in the grass on a rainy day for whomever came along next.

Twenty minutes later I saw an orange fox sitting by the blueberries, scooping up a mouthful, closing her eyes, and smiling as she nibbled them. When I draw any character I first start with the basics: color, markings, and shapes. Next I draw a ton of faces and poses... until I feel I have captured the feeling of the creature. This may be less physically accurate, of course.
